Traci O’Very Covey paints, builds murals, mosaics, art glass, and metal sculpture from a working studio in Salt Lake City. She takes commissions for private clients, interior designers, and architects.
She was born in Salt Lake City and earned her BFA at the University of Utah. Her paintings sit in Salt Lake County’s permanent collection and have been in the Springville Museum of Art, the Utah Museum of Contemporary Art, and the Utah Museum of Fine Art.
You can walk past her metal sculpture on city streets and her murals at Eccles Theater, the Mountain America Expo Center, and Salt Lake International Airport. She also has work at Asante Hospital in Medford, Oregon.
She has taught at the University of Utah, Salt Lake Community College, and The Art Institute of Salt Lake City. She is Artist in Residence at Huntsman Cancer Institute. The Dictionary of Utah Fine Artists lists her. In 2025 the University of Utah College of Fine Arts gave her the Distinguished Alumni Legacy Award. The work leans toward flora, fauna, and the grace and joy of everyday.
