Shanti Hodges founded Land Beyond Zion Tours, a woman-owned hiking guide service permitted inside Zion National Park and on surrounding public land. The official team page names her founder. The official about page says the company is owned by Carmella Hoeft and Shanti Hodges.
She spent years as a journalist and as executive director of Hike it Baby before moving to the Zion area. The company was previously Wild Utah Tours and focused on women’s retreats; during covid it shifted to private guiding, and she began guiding Angel’s Landing in 2022. The shop has no storefront. Tours are custom hiking and driving days for families, first-timers, and people who have not always felt welcome on the trail.
When she is not guiding, the official bio says she hikes with her son Mason and their dog Sunny, and that they divide time between Southern Utah and British Columbia, where she grew up.
