Lavanya Mahate is the founder of Saffron Valley. She learned to cook as a child in India. Her style is rooted in southern Indian cooking. She moved to the United States in 2001. She worked as Director of the Women’s Business Center at the Salt Lake Chamber.
In 2010 she launched East India Pantry spice blends at the Downtown Farmers Market. In 2011 she opened the first Saffron Valley cafe in South Jordan. The food is authentic and made from scratch.
